The project isn't quite over :)

Don't want to say much more at this point, but Recon's just about done getting settled in.

How do you like the Perth Winter? I'm going to giggle if I see a comment in six months time about the heat. ;p

Yeah there's a good chance we'll be doing something with it I think.

We've been pondering whether Starcraft 2 would be a good base engine to make the game with, but we're not sure at this time how much work that would take or what the limitations would be.  The engine seems really good but clearly it would involve starting over totally, as the existing game sucks in my opinion.  Not just starting over in units either, but the whole interface would need to be created from scratch.  Also I think it would be poetic to have a Supcom inspired game sitting on the Starcraft engine, but that's just me.

Odds favor rebooting the game yet this year, since my life has been finally getting some order to it.  You just can't take on major projects like this when your whole life is turned inside out.  Now I've moved 10,000 miles and Pawz and I actually work together at the same company on the same project.  How cool is that??  ;D Getting settled in, and once a few more big setup items are out of the way I think we're going to want to dive into a project.

SupCom2, not too surprisingly, is already starting to fade.

SupCom:FA is kinda sorta starting to get a bit of life back in it, but whole knows since Starcraft 2 is out.

Any chance on ATW being polished up, or no?

Just got it on Steam for 10 bucks. Pretty cheap for a full game.

Hey guys, good to see the forum is still around.

It pains me to see that GPG hasn't improved their game design philosophy and that they still haven't learned a thing since SupCom.

The research three is an utter piece of crap. Immediately I can point out at least 5 problems with it and 5000 suggestions to make it simpler, easier to use and more intwined in the game.

Everything else is just subpar design. They've heard my complaints about immersion but have taken a completely wrong approach in putting it in the game.

Oh well, Starcraft 2 has my attention for now. GPG can go the way of the dinosaur.

Yup, I've pretty much deep-sixed the notion of making ATW for Supcom II, ever.

Unfortunate, but that's what happens when a company designs for a console I guess. :(
